3. Rey Mysterio vs. The Miz

The return of Rey Mysterio has been a wonderful addition to Tuesday nights since his return at SmackDown 1000.  The Master Of The 619 looks better than ever these days, but that still doesn’t mean everyone is sold on the future WWE Hall of Famer.

The Miz had a couple of key decisions to make regarding Survivor Series when he replaced Daniel Bryan with Jeff Hardy for Team SmackDown.  He wasn’t finished there, however, and he wanted to replace Mysterio as well since he was a Bryan guy.  GM Paige said Miz could do that, if he beat Mysterio in a match last night.

Given the recent shuffling of Team SmackDown, Mysterio could have conceivably been removed from the team for someone else.  However, he wouldn’t allow that to happen and he had a solid match with The A-Lister to keep his spot on the team.  The Miz threatened to get the victory, but Mysterio was able to get the job done after rolling up Miz for the win.

Randy Orton tried to attack Mysterio after the match was over, but instead had to settle for an RKO to The Miz.  Mysterio will remain on Team SmackDown at least for the time being, but given how much Survivor Series has changed already, don’t be surprised if something crazy happens and he is replaced.  That’s just how unpredictable things have been as of late.

It was a bit strange to see Mysterio compete against the team captain, who wanted him off of the team, just to stay on the team, but it was a solid match.

Final Grade: B+
