It’s time for the main event, and Sami Callihan and oVe are heading out to the ring for Callihan’s X Division Championship match against Brian Cage.

Immediatley after the bell the two charge towards each other, but it’s Cage who lands the lariat. Cage grabs Callihan and flings him between corners, before he starts bicep-curling with Callihan and tosses him over his shoulders.

Cage jumps up for a hurricanrana before landing a drop kick. Josh Matthews says, “Brian Cage should not be able to do the moves that he does,” and boy, is that true. Brian Cage truly is the apex performer right now; he can do absolutely anything.

Dave Crist grabs Cage’s leg to throw him off, and after a scuffle and words with the ref, the Crists are out of here. Cage then lands a quick vertical suplex on Callihan outside of the ring.

I got my whole nighttime routine done in that last commercial break, so go me. When we come back, it’s apparent that Callihan had been working the injured knee of Cage, but it really doesn’t stop him much. After a piledriver from Callihan, Cage lands an Alabama Slam.

Callihan gets Cage in a hanging guillotine choke, and then he does for the Death Valley Driver, but it’s not enough for the pin.

Cage lands an F5, but Callihan gets his foot on the rope to break the pin. Callihan gets two kicks in on Cage’s face, but Cage practically eats them. Callihan lands another piledriver, but he still can’t pin Cage.

The grammatical structure of that last paragraph sums up the entirety of the match – back and forth, back and forth. This was a blow-for-blow match all the way, and both men brought a brutal fight.

Cage retains the X Division Championship, and on January 6th at Homecoming, Brian Cage will cash in Option C… which means Brian Cage will challenge Johnny Impact for the Impact World Championship.
