NXT: Kyle O’Reilly vs. Hanson

There are few better ways to end the go-home show of an episode of NXT before an NXT TakeOver special than a wrestling clinic put on by Kyle O’Reilly. The world’s finest air guitarist is even more adept at transitioning into submission holds, and he showed the rest of the NXT roster the best way to handle a man of Hanson’s size.

Adam Cole is among the most meddlesome wrestlers in WWE, and he, of course, was hell-bent on influencing this match in its latter stages. Cole always finds a way to come up with the decisive interference, and his involvement proved critical in O’Reilly’s hard-fought victory against the resilient Hanson.

This was a great tune-up match for TakeOver WarGames, where all four members of the Undisputed Era will take on Pete Dunne, Ricochet, and War Raiders in what will promise to be a chaotic match filled with panic-inducing spots.

O’Reilly’s gutsy win, which was met by an overjoyed Cole, gives the Undisputed Era the coveted “man advantage” at TakeOver WarGames.

I’d also recommend giving this match a watch as a way of getting more hyped for the expected main event of WarGames, mostly because technical wrestling on O’Reilly’s level is rare to see. He has been the Undisputed Era’s MVP this year, which probably wasn’t what most people expected coming into this year, given Cole’s prestige.
