Acting GM Baron Corbin opens the show, welcoming Stephanie McMahon into the Staples Center. Why do I still feel like Baron Corbin is getting fired right now? They’re really trying to get heat for ignoring the fact that SmackDown won the pre-show tag team elimination match.

Stephanie digs at Shane by saying Raw didn’t have to run their mouth, saying they’re the best and all. The just proved. Corbin reminds Stephanie that last night, she promised to consider making Corbin a more permanent GM. Before that’s discussed, here comes Braun Strowman.

Braun wants his match with Baron sooner rather than later. At TLC, the two will finally have said match, and if Baron wins that, he’s GM for good. If he looses, he loses all the authority he had. Braun is quick to remind them that he gets to pick the stipulation, and Stephanie agrees that if Braun can beat Corbin at TLC, he gets a Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble.

Braun coins the term “Monday Night Braun” during this segment, and I can’t wait til this gets run into the ground going forward.

Oh, and this match will be the TLC match. Corbin sets up Braun to face Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre for tonight, but Stephanie one-ups him; it’s Corbin, Lashley, and McIntyre vs. Braun, Finn Balor, and Elias, and it’s right now.

Because nothing says celebration like a six-man tag match. Let’s party!
