Shane McMahon attacks The Miz.

Yes, I used a corny picture of Shane McMahon holding his Best In The World Trophy to be indicative of “Mr. Nice Guy”.

Shane McMahon was not only Commissioner of SmackDown Live going into Survivor Series; he was their number one cheerleader as well. No one was out for blood more than Shane; why else would he have thrown himself into that “World” Cup tournament to make sure SmackDown got the win?

As we all saw last night, things didn’t exactly fare the way SmackDown or Shane would have wanted them to. SmackDown got utterly embarrassed by Team Raw, and you can bet Shane McMahon will be stewing in disappointment.

Quick to try to alleviate some of that resentment will likely be The Miz, who as team captain, actually managed to show a great bit of morale last night. It was Miz, after all, who ordered Shane go coast-to-coast in the ring not once, but twice, to take out members of Team Raw.

I think that the burden of a SmackDown loss, plus the Miz in Shane’s face trying to spit some positivity, plus Shane feeling the brunt of Braun Strowman knocking him out of the air (after a call that Miz made), may all be enough for the Commissioner to snap.

A “wrong place, wrong time” attack from Shane McMahon may also help to put over the notion of Miz as babyface, which WWE has been teasing since we began building towards Survivor Series.

If Shane is up for it as well, it could also set up a pretty good match at either TLC or Royal Rumble between the two, but I won’t hold my breath on that one.
