WWE SmackDown Live Predictions: SmackDown Gets The (Anti) Hero They Need

Aleister Black debuts on SmackDown Live.
Here at Daily DDT, we’ve had plenty of discussion relating to the fact that the SmackDown babyface scene is incredibly weak these days. The heels are running amuck, and with the recent turn of SmackDown’s Golden Boy, Daniel Bryan, plus reports that AJ Styles is asking for a lighter schedule, someone’s going to have to end the madness.
Enter NXT’s very own anti-hero Aleister Black as the person to step up to the plate. Black has made his name in NXT as a vigilante of sorts, fighting injustice’s as he sees fit. In my very heart of hearts, I’m hoping that as Daniel Bryan gives a little heel speak about Survivor Series and Brock Lesnar, Black’s music drops, and the crowd just pops.
Realistically speaking, however, Black could fit in absolutely anywhere on the roster right now. It could be Black against Samoa Joe, Black against Randy Orton, etc. Maybe we even get another run at Black versus Andrade “Cien” Amas, who Black one his NXT Championship against.
I think the fact here is that after Aleister Black’s win against Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover; War Games, the creative direction for Black in NXT ran it’s course, and it’s simply time for him to make his main-roster debut. SmackDown is the perfect place for him right now, again because SmackDown needs to fuel their babyface roster at risk of asking only Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio to carry that moniker.
How do you think SmackDown will fair this week after a devastating Survivor Series loss?
