Daniel Bryan Addresses His Actions
AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan will be official for TLC, as Styles will invoke his rematch for the WWE Championship at the upcoming Pay Per View.
In the meantime, Bryan, who won the championship by cheating, came out to “Daniel Bryan!” chants that were bereft of “YES!” chants.
Bryan starts speaking about himself in the first person, stating that his act of betrayal came years ago when he announced his retirement, when he gave up on his dreams – not when he cheated against Styles last week.
He believes the hyperbaric chamber that helped speed up the healing process from his head injuries contributed to him developing his new “Fight for your dreams and your dreams will fight for you.”
This story was quite creepy, as Bryan seemed almost possessed with the way he slowly enunciated his words, speaking exclusively in the third person as he addressed the crowd and lambasted the psychiatrists and advisors for telling him to “move on”. He demeans the crowd for chanting “AJ Styles” and for initially moving on from him.
So to recap: The “YES!” movement is dead. And all that’s left is “The New Daniel Bryan”, ostensibly a supervillain created in a hyperbaric chamber.
Oh, and the ring announcer will apparently start announcing him as “The New Daniel Bryan”.
Rating: Good. I can’t hate on it, because this freaked me out and was a trip. Like, this was bizarre, but it got the crowd to kind of boo Bryan, which is good enough. I’m prepared for more of this.
