MLW Fusion Results, Highlights, and Grades: The Fall of the House of Swerve
Next Week and Miami’s Double-Shot
On December 13 at Never Say Never, Tom Lawlor will have a chance to get his revenge on Simon Gotch in a No Holds Barred, No Ropes Match! This is the first match of its kind in MLW and should work more in the favor of Lawlor than Gotch, though Salina de la Renta’s Promociones Dorado will be watching closely. Can Lawlor pull another thorn out of his side as he attempts to focus on Low Ki and Superfight in February?
The World Tag Team Titles will be on the line as the Lucha Bros will defend against The Hart Foundation. Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix still have a title defense yet to air against Los Parks next week on Fusion – could the match in Miami still be shaken up a bit? We don’t have details on which two members of the Hart Foundation will be competing, so they could bring the element of surprise to the champions.
LA Park and PCO will clash in a Falls Count Anywhere rematch stemming from their first bout at Fury Road in New York. In a non-title match, World Middleweight Champion MJF will have to answer to Rush after deriding luchadores as of late. Finally, Andrew Everett will make his MLW debut on night one of the Miami double-shot.
On December 14 at Zero Hour, Low Ki will defend the MLW World Heavyweight Title against the returning Konnan. So far, Konnan hasn’t been able to find anyone to take Low Ki out and has been goaded into taking on the champion himself. Can Konnan achieve the impossible and upset Low Ki to become the new World Heavyweight Champion?
In a four-way ladder match for the World Middleweight Title, MJF will defend against Kotto Brazil, Jason Cade and a mystery opponent. The fourth spot was initially held by Marko Stunt, but he’s very obviously out after breaking his leg at Joey Janela’s LA Confidential taking a Canadian Destroyer from Eli Everfly. Could this open the door for a new face to join the MLW roster, or will a fighter on the roster reap the benefits of Stunt’s injury?
If Tom Lawlor can survive Simon Gotch at Never Say Never, he will have a chance to begin whittling away at Salina de la Renta’s army when he battles LA Park.
Next week on Fusion, the Lucha Bros defend their World Tag Team Titles against Los Parks. Can LA Park and Hijo de LA Park continue to chip away at Konnan’s luchadores by claiming the championships for themselves? Konnan has been unsuccessful at keeping de la Renta at bay in almost every situation, but could this be the turning point leading into December’s events in Miami?
