It’s here, it’s here, it’s here! Seth Rollins is heading out to the ring on the promise to defend his Intercontinental Championship in an open challenge! My hopes are all the way up thinking that this will be a good one, so let’s all cross our fingers and say our prayers!

He of course needs to take a moment to acknowledge that yes, he’s still feuding with Dean Ambrose, and yes, Seth is done chasing Dean around. There’s emphasis on the fact that Dean says he wasn’t in the building tonight, and Seth seems a little paranoid about it.

Okay, it’s time, it’s time… The challenger is…

Dolph Ziggler, with a microphone. Dolph is sympathetic; he knows Seth hasn’t been himself lately, so to get Seth back into his good headspace, Dolph’s going to let Seth lose to him again.

This would have been a lot better if they’d just announced “Seth Rollins will face Dolph Ziggler for his Intercontinental Championship” and just been up front about it.

Dolph gets most of the offense on this, and the commentators frequently acknowledge that Seth is very consumed with Dean Ambrose.

The match is a solid back and forth throughout, with Rollins ultimately winning off of a superplex and a Falcon Arrow.

I’m sorry I didn’t give more of a play-by-play of this one, but I was really too busy watching it. Sure, WWE gave our hopes up that we were getting a fresh match, but they knew this one would be quality, and indeed it was.

Grade: Solid. If Seth was thinking about Dean at all, you’d never be able to tell.
