8. Magic Killer (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson)
Upon arriving in WWE back in April 2016, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson brought with them a reputation as one of the great tag teams in wrestling. The duo had won the New Japan World Tag League in 2013 and were three time IWGP Tag Team Champions. Oh, and Anderson was a founding member of a little club, and Gallows had joined that same group.
While much of their WWE tenure has been a head scratcher, there’s one thing that can’t be denied — when given the chance, they more than live up to that reputation as a world class tag team. And though there’s no shortage of great chemistry between the Good Brothers, the move that really puts them over the top is their finisher, the Magic Killer.
It’s a pretty simple move, but effective nonetheless. Gallows executes a high angle neckbreaker, while Anderson holds the victim’s legs and adds some extra torque to the spin on the neckbreaker. The suspension before the move allows the blood to rush to the recipient’s head, contributing to some disorientation before the shock of the actual neckbreaker.
The Magic Killer is a variation on Au Revoir, a move utilized by La Resistance roughly 15 years ago. The original featured more of a sidewalk slam aspect to the maneuver, as opposed to the neckbreaker variant by Gallows and Anderson.
Had the Good Brothers had some more success in WWE to date, it’s possible the Magic Killer may be seen as even more devastating than it actually is. But as things stand, there haven’t been a lot of big victories for The Club in general, let alone with this maneuver.
