2. Nia Jax And Tamina Cause A Rift In Ronda Rousey And Natalya’s Friendship
Ronda Rousey and Natalya are set to face Nia Jax and Tamina in a tag team match this week, presumably designed to build interest for the Raw Women’s Championship match at TLC.
After last week’s less than thrilling acting performances from Rousey and Jax, the only way to build that interest might be to start up a somewhat overdue angle between Rousey and Natalya.
At first, I think it was fairly easy to see that we were eventually going to see Natalya turn on Rousey. That has yet to be the case, however, leading me to believe that WWE is waiting to pull the trigger on that rivalry until the time is right.
In order to avoid another set of cringe-worthy promos this week, the right time is most definitely now.
This week, Rousey and Natalya will suffer from a miscommunication, a running theme I’m predicting for this episode, and lose their match against Jax and Tamina. While this won’t lead to a heel turn from Natalya quite yet, it will set the stage for more tension to come, perhaps culminating with the actual turn itself occurring after Rousey’s title defense at TLC.
Again, I see this angle as the only available way to rebuild excitement and keep this story going on the road to TLC. The unknown factor of whether or not Natalya will be in Rousey’s corner to help her would be a surefire way to garner some of the excitement missing from Rousey’s match with Jax.
Speaking of loss excitement, Rousey and Jax’s feud isn’t the only rivalry suffering after last week’s atrocious Raw. Seth Rollins versus Dean Ambrose is already in need of a reboot, which unlike the other two rivalries, I unfortunately don’t expect to see this week.
