ROH: A Beginner’s Guide Before Final Battle 2018
ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions – The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia, & TK O’Ryan)
One team has dominated the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships since it was first awarded when The Kingdom defeated Jay White, KUSHIDA, and Lio Rush to win the championships on December 2, 2016. The primary group that The Kingdom feuded with throughout the two years since the title was introduced is the Bullet Club/The Elite (more on them later). Currently, they are three-time champions, dethroning Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks.
ROH World Television Champion – Jeff Cobb
Jeff Cobb has come into ROH in a way that is reminiscent of Samoa Joe. Cobb came into the company destroying opponents quickly, culminating in him defeating Punishment Martinez for the ROH World Television Championship. Cobb sent Martinez packing, as he was on his way to WWE, and has since dominated all his opponents. This is just the beginning for Cobb, who is relatively new to ROH, but not new to wrestling.
Cobb has worked all over the world, in NJPW, PWG, Lucha Underground (as Matanza Cueto), and all over the indies. Now, he is putting his focus on climbing the ranks in ROH, and his television title win is just the beginning. It’s going to be very interesting to see what Cobb does going forward, as he could be a major player in ROH. He has the credentials, having been a top guy on the indies for a long time now. Seeing Cobb in the main event of ROH would be a wonderful thing, and the sky is the limit for him in ROH.
Cobb will be defending his Television Championship at ROH Final Battle against Hangman Page. You can bet that this will be a war, as Page is known to thrive in big match situations, and Cobb is known to be an absolute monster in the ring.
