Riott Squad on the Rise

Individually, the members of the Riott Squad might never be given their due screen time on Raw or SmackDown. Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan are each so uniquely talented and make quite the oddball combination of Superstars, so it was impossible to have imagined the three of them teaming together before WWE actually made it happen. And I’ll be honest, when they were brought up from NXT together to join SmackDown last year, I was skeptical that the company had any real intentions of making the most of these women.

Every week I’m further proven wrong though, especially with their run on Monday nights. It’s so rare that WWE Superstars actually experience a career boost when moving from SmackDown to Raw; the Raw curse is so common I think that must be why WWE calls SmackDown Live the “land of opportunity.” The Riott Squad has taken the ball and ran with it though, and their presence on the red brand has been painfully felt among the rest of the women’s division.

For weeks now, the Squad has been growing darker with insults to the legacy of Natalya’s legendary father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart. Ruby and the gang have been repeatedly destroying Natalya at every turn, and it works out so well because Natalya is so great at garnering sympathy from fans.

This week, the Riott Squad struck again, this time putting Nattie through a table and furthering their status as the most vicious and relentless pests on the Raw brand.
