WWE Raw: Results, Review, and Grades for December 10th
Seth Rollins vs. Baron Corbin
Our Favorite Ref Heath Slater is out here at the behest of Baron Corbin, and he’ll be calling this main event TLC match between Corbin and Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship. Slater’s face looks identical to anyone else showing up to work on a Monday.
Rollins kicks Corbin into a corner to start off the match, and Rollins is quick to grab at the equipment first. Corbin begins immediately over-utilizing Slater by forcing him to grab him a ladder.
Corbin actually puts in a lot of work on Seth Rollins completely unassisted, and he’s the first to set the ladder up to try and grab the Intercontinental Championship. Seth flies up the ladder to stop him, and the two go back and forth until Corbin launches Rollins into the ladder.
This match really is pretty toe-to-toe. When Seth lays into Baron with a chair, Baron puts Seth through a table. Corbin attempts to climb the ladder again as Seth’s laid out at ringside. Yet again, however, here comes Seth flying up towards the ladder, this time with a chair.
At ringside, Corbin goes for the End Of Days, but Seth counters by throwing Corbin into the steel steps. Seth climbs up to the top turnbuckle and frog-splashes Corbin right through a table!
Seth by the way also accidentally hit Slater with a chair. So, when Seth is climbing the ladder to get the belt, Slater approaches the ladder and pushes it over!
Slater grabs Corbin and pulls him towards the ladder. Corbin begins to climb, but Seth Rollins knocks him off again. Slater’s pleading with Rollins, apologizing profusely, but Rollins superkicks him. Seth flies up the ladder again, and he is still the Intercontinental Championship.
After the win, of course, Dean Ambrose comes out to bid Seth one final adieu before they face off at TLC.
Grade: Pretty frickin’ good! Exciting, brutal, my poor Slater is just the victim in this whole story – this match had everything! I’m still not buying anything about the Corbin Is The Scapegoat for Bad Booking (even though as the GM, yeah, I guess he is responsible), but the tone of this match made it kind of worth it for the time being.
Anywho, that’s it for tonight! Not so bad, am I right? Thanks for tuning in with us tonight, and be sure to follow along with us tomorrow night for our live coverage of SmackDown Live! Thank you, and goodnight!
