2. The New Day
The New Day are always one of the most entertaining teams in WWE. With their penchant for pancakes, wherever the trio goes, hilarious antics seem to follow.
Recently, The New Day lost in a triple threat match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. Now that they are knocked out of the tag title scene, the three talented superstars are left largely directionless on the brand without any true challengers in sight.
That’s where Heavy Machinery comes in.
Dozovic and Knight would make for a brilliant next feud for The New Day. They have the size and power to rival Big E, along with a surprising amount of speed and agility that could come close to matching that of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
The New Day are also arguably the most established team in WWE, meaning fans will have no problem becoming invested in this feud. On the other hand though, that means it may be hard for fans to cheer on Heavy Machinery considering how popular The New Day are with audiences everywhere.
Fortunately, we’ve seen that The New Day, and SmackDown as a whole, have been able to sustain quality matches and promos between two face teams without having one of them turn heel or drop in appeal. The Usos recent feud with The New Day is a great example of that, with both teams showing mutual respect for one another while still getting in great digs on each other and putting on amazing matches.
I believe Heavy Machinery has the ability to pull off that same sort of feud with The New Day if they were given the chance on SmackDown. However, I do understand that a face versus face rivalry may need a bit more nuance than WWE is ready to give to a team that’s just making their debut.
That’s why theirs another set of “top guys” that may ultimately make for the perfect team for Heavy Machinery to feud with.
