Randy Orton

Randy Orton has become one of the most despicable heels on the WWE roster, which is a role that has always suited him perfectly. Wrestling fans are usually less than enthusiastic about Orton’s babyface work, but they are disgusted (in a good way) by his heel character. Orton’s morbid infatuation with Jeff Hardy’s ear, for example, drew visible disgust from the WWE Universe, and his total disregard for Rey Mysterio’s mask was another example of his disturbing heel work.

The Viper has focused his strongest animosity on the WWE Universe, whom he believes are the “real” Legend Killers. They ask wrestlers to engage in high-risk dives, thus shortening their careers and making Orton’s own career more dangerous. He resents wrestlers like Hardy and Mysterio who pander to the crowd.

To Orton, Ali is the epitome of this type of wrestling, as he came from 205 Live and uses the 0-5-4 as his highly impressive –and difficult – finishing maneuver. Orton could target Ali as an up-and-coming star and fan favorite, and he would absolutely cross the line in a feud with Ali.

There’s no doubt that the crowd would be forcefully behind Ali, and this is the type of match that could help make Ali a huge star on the main roster, especially if the two engage in some promos prior to the match; Ali’s mic skills as a babyface could really shine through there.
