Samoa Joe

Though Samoa Joe has yet to win a championship on the main roster despite having a fantastic feud with AJ Styles over the summer/fall, he remains one of the most fearsome competitors on the main roster, with his current heel work against Jeff Hardy being just as excellent as his segments in the feud with Styles.

Like Randy Orton, Samoa Joe is a legend of the industry and a brilliant heel who cannot stand young, up-and-coming babyfaces. He will take out anyone by any means necessary to get ahead, and he’d see someone like Mustafa Ali as an easy challenge.

That could cause Joe to underestimate Ali, and taking the former 205 Live star lightly isn’t the best strategy. Joe would focus his attack on grounding Ali with submissions, while Ali would do his best to fight with his resiliency, countering Joe’s strength with his agility. That said, Joe is a quick and agile wrestler despite his size, so Ali could be in for a surprise.

The in-ring story between these wrestlers would be easy-to-write, but the additional creative frills spawning from the minds of these two excellent wrestlers would add the brush strokes to a canvas straight out of the wrestling textbooks. Joe vs. Ali could be a classic, and it’s worth keeping in mind as a dream match for the newest member of the SmackDown Live roster.
