WWE SmackDown Live: Results, Review, and Grades for December 18th
Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Rusev and Lana, and she asks Rusev if his win last week puts him in line for a US Championship opportunity. Rusev feels that, with him being the most handsome man on the roster and all… yeah, he does.
Next, Jeff Hardy is out in the ring, where allegedly we’re getting an “apology” from Samoa Joe. Jeff knows for the last few weeks, he’s realized Joe was trying get under his skin, but he knows he’s overcome so much, and he looks at himself in the mirror everyday just happy to be alive.
Out comes Joe, in ring gear mind you. He says he’s in sorry, but this isn’t an apology – it’s an intervention. Here we go!
Jeff’s quick to stop Joe, though; he says the more Joe reminds him of who he was, the more dedicated Jeff becomes to never go back. He calls Joe right out and tells Joe he’s just mad that Joe has yet to win a championship since he’s been on the main roster. That’s all it takes for Joe to pounce, and Jeff is quick to counter, sending Joe flying out of the ring after a Twist of Fate.
That was it. I’m a little surprised this segment wasn’t a little bit longer, but I’m sure there will be many more segments for these two lined up in the next month.
