WWE SmackDown Live: Results, Review, and Grades for December 18th
Daniel Brian and Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. AJ Stylers and Mustafa Ali (!!!)
When we come back from commercial (rude), Daniel Bryan tags himself right on out of here when AJ Styles tags in. Styles and Almas go back and forth until Almas hits a mean elbow on Styles. It’s not enough to get him the pinfall, however, but Styles looks out of sorts.
The two grapple for a bit more until Styles tags in Ali. Ali turns a rack from Almas into a head-scissor/DDT hybrid thing, which looked great.
DB tags himself in again, and he gets Ali stuck in a corner before landing a huge kick to his chest. DB gets Ali in an abdominal stretch before he tags out to Almas. I won’t give you much more of a play-by-play on this; basically DB and Almas go back and forth assaulting Ali for a bit. That is, until Almas and Zelina hit the Tranquilo on Ali, causing Styles to interfere and then sends Ali flying out on Almas and DB, OVER Zelina Vega.
DB has Ali in another submission when we get back from commercial, and then it’s Almas’s turn. Really, it’s more of the same. It’s great, but it’s the same, ya get me?
Almas hits Ali with a particularly nasty clothesline though, I will say that. Ali counters, and he’s trying to get to Styles. When he does, DB’s tagged in with him, and AJ just powers through him. Styles gets DB in a neckbreaker, but it’s not enough for the pin. Styles looks for the Phenomenal Forearm, which DB dodges, but Styles catches DB in the Calf Crusher. Almas breaks it up, and he tries to get AJ in the Hammerlock, but AJ sends him flying out of the ring.
Outside, Ali hits Almas with headscissor.
ALI GETS THE PIN ON BRYAN FOR THE WIN. YEAH. IT HAPPENED.
Grade: A for Almas and Ali are the future of this brand and don’t you ever forget it.
