Nikki Cross

Among the upcoming main roster call-ups from NXT, Nikki Cross has plenty of history with Asuka. The two superstars produced a Last Woman Standing for the ages in NXT, as Cross absolutely took the then-undefeated Asuka to the brink in an all-out battle for the highly-regarded NXT Women’s Championship.

Though Cross never managed to get her hands on the NXT Women’s Title, despite getting a crack at the championship at NXT TakeOver: Chicago II this year against the imposing Shayna Baszler, she certainly made her mark on WWE’s third brand. Cross has plenty of upside as a main roster call-up, especially if she gets the opportunity to usurp Eric Young as Sanity’s leader.

Cross vs. Asuka would be an awesome match on the main roster, and it would be a dream come true for some fans as a title match at a Big 5 PPV. The downside to Cross facing Asuka, though, is that it would be a big loss on her debut PPV match on the WWE main roster, which is a pill some fans may not want to swallow.

That said, there’s no shame in losing to Asuka, because so many great superstars, such as Sasha Banks and Naomi, have fallen to The Empress of Tomorrow. She’s one of the most fearsome wrestlers in the world for a reason, and a match against Asuka could do wonders as an introduction to Cross’s wrestling ability.

Of course, Cross recently lost to Becky Lynch on an episode of SmackDown Live in Manchester, so some wrestling fans have already been “introduced” while others may not want to see her lose another big matchup. It’s a trade-off.
