Cruiserweight Championship Match: Buddy Murphy (c) vs. Lince Dorado

There’s no avoiding how excited fans and superstars alike are to see Mustafa Ali moved to the main roster on SmackDown Live. It’s a huge moment for him, especially after pinning WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. However, 205 Live isn’t going anywhere, and they’ll need someone to step up. With Cedric Alexander getting most of the pay-per-view title opportunities in 2018, he’s unlikely to get another one so soon if this fresh start is to be believed.

The influx of talent from NXT could also lead to a new face on 205 Live, but there’s no shortage of talent on the roster already that could take on “The Juggernaut” Buddy Murphy. It may be a good while before someone can earn a position as the new “Heart and Soul of 205 Live,” but Lucha House Party has already established themselves as rowdy fan favorites. The obvious pick from the trio to take on Murphy would be former Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto, but the fresh start isn’t about doing the same old obvious things.

Instead, Lince Dorado could be the one to step up and take on the nearly unstoppable champion. Lucha House Party continues to try and carve their spot in the tag team division on Raw, but the potential use of the Freebird rule (not Lucha House Rules) could free up any of them for singles competition. If you’ve ever seen Dorado compete, whether it be all the way back in the Cruiserweight Classic or in recent weeks on Raw or 205 Live, you know just how gorgeous his Shooting Star Press can be.

On top of his silky smooth in-ring skills, Dorado seems like he has the better mic skills compared to Metalik. Neither has done a ton of talking, so it’s a bit hard to judge, but Metalik seems to still be working on improving his English. It’s enough to give him an edge, and possibly lead to a very interesting rivalry as Dorado pursues The Juggernaut and the Cruiserweight Championship.
