Seth Rollins
Despite a difficult end to 2018, Seth Rollins remains one of the most capable competitors on the WWE roster. Despite the rough closing, Rollins spent a large part of the year making Raw back into “Monday Night Rollins” with a strong run as Intercontinental Champion. Unfortunately, things started to break down the night that Roman Reigns announced his departure to battle leukemia. It was an understandably difficult moment for The Shield, but things only got worse in the main event.
Rollins teamed with fellow Shield member Dean Ambrose to take on then Raw Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. After a hard-fought contest, it was Rollins who was able to hit a Stomp on Ziggler to seal the deal and capture the titles. It looked to be a huge moment for The Shield coming off the emotional announcement by Roman, but Dean Ambrose immediately hit his breaking point and assault Rollins after the match. With one vicious attack after another, what was left of The Shield got burned to the ground.
Just two weeks later, the former friends turned bitter rivals had to defend their Raw Tag Team Titles against The Authors of Pain. Dean Ambrose was nowhere to be found, so Rollins had to go it alone and unsurprisingly came up short against AOP. Seth was looking for retribution against Ambrose at TLC, but all he left with was a poorly received loss that also put his coveted Intercontinental Championship in the hands of Dean Ambrose.
While Seth may still be looking for a form or payback against Ambrose, the impending Royal Rumble is the perfect chance for him to put the focus back on getting into the championship picture. The two-time United States Champion and two-time WWE Champion has proven himself in the spotlight before, but can he outlast 29 other men to win the Royal Rumble?
