Raw Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey

Everyone knew Ronda Rousey was headed for big things in the WWE once she debuted at the 2018 Royal Rumble.  Not only has she lived up to the hype surrounding her debut, but she has exceeded it with flying colors throughout 2018.

Rousey has developed into arguably the biggest star in the WWE and has quickly proven her worth to the WWE.  Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax were the first two Raw Women’s Champions in 2018, but after Bliss cashed in her Money in the Bank opportunity during Rousey’s battle with Jax at Money In The Bank, The Goddess took the reigns back as Raw Women’s Champion.

Her days as champion would be numbered, however, and at SummerSlam, The Baddest Woman On The Planet defeated Bliss to become the Raw Women’s Champion for the first time.  Rousey’s reign will continue heading into 2019, but it has featured several impressive battles, including a main event match at Evolution with Nikki Bella.  Her match with Jax at TLC was particularly impressive as well.

Not to mention, the issues with Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair have risen during this Raw Women’s Championship reign as well.  Rousey has helped turn the Raw women’s division into must-see TV and, in turn, has helped elevate the entire division.  Huge things are in store for both Rousey and the championship in 2019, there’s no denying that.  It could even lead to that sought-after, first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event.

The Baddest Woman On The Planet has been the best Raw Women’s Champion in 2018, even with a few other impressive reigns throughout the year.
