Ladies And Gentlemen…Elias
The show begins with Elias wearing a Santa hat in the center of the ring following a pretty sweet Christmas intro hyping up the show. Elias informs everyone that there are three truths, and the universal truth of them all is that WWE stands for “Walk With Elias”. How can you argue that?
Elias is prepared for his Miracle on 34th Street Fight with Bobby Lashley tonight, but, first, he’s going to give us the gift of his musical prowess!
Of course, Lashley and Lio Rush interrupt Elias at the “Bobby Lashley Sucks” part of his song, and the match gets underway.
Bobby Lashley vs. Elias
Result: Elias wins via pinfall from a cello shot
Lashley goes right after Elias with fists to his face, and we get a good view of all the food and ornaments on the outside. This is going to be quite the hilarious match, especially with bump machine Lio Rush looming.
The bumping on the outside with the props begins, and just as Elias is about to hit Lashley with a candy cane kendo stick, Rush swoops in and snatches it away. Lashley tries to take advantage by slamming Elias into the steel steps, but Elias counters as we head to commercial.
Rush went for a Frog Splash, but Elias got the knees up and quickly countered a suplex attempt into a roll-up. That brief shift in momentum barely lasted, however, as Lashley hit the Pittsburgh native with a sickening spinebuster before laying in some more punishment.
Lashley lines up the presents on the outside before slamming Elias onto them, smiling with unbridled glee as he threw his opponent back into the ring in order to hit some big elbows in the corner. A comeback attempt was mounted by the babyface, but Elias simply earned a vicious suplex for his efforts.
A joyful Lashley received a box filled with LEGOS before dumping them out on the canvas. He plopped Elias on the top rope, softened him up with several punches, and prepared to send him to a most cruel of fates. Of course, it was Lashley who fell into the legos, and Elias promptly followd that up with some fire extinguisher action. He then sent Rush reeling through the table on the outside, and after beating up Lashley some more, he procured a bowling bowl from the outside.
I don’t know what’s worse, landing on top of a bunch of legos or getting hit in the junk with a bowling ball?
One cello hit later, and Elias grabbed a crazy victory over Lashley. For good measure, he doused Rush in eggnog on the outside.
Merry Christmas, y’all!
Grade: B+, I love hilarious, over-the-top nonsense. This was awesome, and gimmick matches that don’t take themselves seriously are my jam. Elias, Lashley, and Rush pulled out all the stops, and there were some damn good spots here. The legos and bowling ball? Fantastic.
