Ronda Rousey Will Wrestle a Man

2018 has been a crazy year for the women of WWE with so many firsts it’s hard to keep track, but perhaps the biggest star of the year has been “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.

Rousey kicked things off early by appearing in January at Royal Rumble, though she didn’t actually have her first match until WrestleMania 34 when she teamed with Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a match hyped as one of the show’s banner attractions. Before Rousey made Stephanie tap out she practically manhandled Triple H, a multiple-time world champion and future Hall of Famer.

Since then Ronda has repeatedly destroyed full armies of male security guards to establish her threatening presence while in the midst of feuds with the other women of the Raw roster, but she’s never had another official match with a male opponent. It’s hard to believe WWE would put all this effort into making it clear that Ronda Rousey can handle herself against men just as well as she can against women unless they were hoping to take it somewhere in the future, and that’s why I believe Ronda Rousey will have a one-on-one match against a man in 2019.

I’m not talking about one of those comedy skits; I’m talking about an actual competitive match against an experienced and legitimate male WWE Superstar. It’s difficult to say how far WWE will be willing to go with it, but I refuse to believe it’s not doable and WWE’s often stale product could benefit greatly from such an attraction.
