Nia Jax

It’s rare in today’s industry that someone legitimately injuring another superstar becomes a part of their character. Competitors and fans alike know that this is a dangerous business and accidents can happen. When Nia Jax let a stray fist during an end-of-Raw brawl break the face of Becky Lynch and leave her bloodied, it garnered more hatred and vitriol from the fans that she’d ever managed on the microphone. Whether you like the decision or not, the results speak for themselves.

Nia Jax has become one of the most dominant heels on the Raw roster, and she’s no stranger to battle royals in general. Superstars who are physically larger have a historically difficult time in battle royals because other superstars tend to focus on eliminating them. Their size puts a target on their back, and can led to massive teams created just to eliminate the larger threats. Fortunately for Nia, she’s got two big assets to counter this.

First, Nia has aligned herself with Tamina in recent weeks. Tamina is one of the most powerful women on the roster, and these two could be an unstoppable duo if they’re in the Royal Rumble at the same time. While alliances tend to dissolve within the confines of the Royal Rumble, even a brief pairing by the two could eliminate quite a few opponents.

While that team might help her briefly, it can’t carry Nia to the victory. However, Jax has proven herself in this kind of a match before. At Evolution, Nia competed in a battle royal to earn a shot a future Women’s Championship Match. Jax outlasted 19 other women to win the battle royal and earn a shot at Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. While Jax came up short in her most recent go at Rousey, there’s no doubt she’ll be looking to use a win at the Royal Rumble for another shot at gold.
