Alexa Bliss

Don’t let her recent position of authority fool you, Alexa Bliss is still as dangerous a competitor as she’s always been. Bliss has been on the shelf for the latter part of 2018 due to concussion issues. Bliss reportedly came back too quickly after one concussion scare, and a subsequent concussion really put her in a bad place. Thankfully those issues seem to have healed, and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry may have even confirmed her future return by saying, “She came back too soon and was in a bad place, but she’s fine and has been cleared.”

With that news of her being cleared coming earlier this month, it seems like a no-brainer that she’ll be ready to go in time for the WWE Royal Rumble. In many ways, Bliss has built her career on being an opportunist. Whether you like the tactic or not, it’s one that’s made her very successful. In only a few short years, Bliss has been a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, three-time Raw Women’s Champion, and captured the Money in the Bank contract.

She used that contract the same night she’d captured it, and left Money in the Bank as the Raw Women’s Champion. She managed to retain the title against Nia Jax at Extreme Rules, but Alexa’s luck ran out at SummerSlam when she was defeated by Ronda Rousey. She failed to recapture the title at Hell in a Cell, and it wasn’t long before Bliss found herself on the shelf with concussion issues.

It was definitely a damper on an otherwise successful year, but now Alexa Bliss will be looking for a big start to 2019. It takes endurance to win the Royal Rumble, but it also takes strategy. There may be no female superstar more strategic than Bliss, and the right plan could lead her to victory in the Royal Rumble. However, if she can pull it off, will Bliss look to take her title back from Ronda Rousey or put her sights on SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka?
