Andrade “Cien” Almas

Almas and business associate Zelina Vega teamed up to take on Rusev and Lana in an entertaining mixed match feud this summer, where both teams traded victories. Almas and Vega did score a big win at SummerSlam, but Rusev is the one holding the gold right now.

Meanwhile, Almas has struggled to find his footing in WWE SmackDown’s upper mid-card, as he hasn’t won a televised match in more than three months. Jealousy has a way of making superstars take action, and perhaps Vega and Almas decide to go after Rusev again.

Since Rusev has already feuded with Orton and Almas in the past, WWE, which says they are trying to give its fans more fresh matchups going forward, probably can’t rehash these as singles feuds.

But they could work in a Triple Threat match or another type of multi-man match for the United States Championship as sort of a “bridge” feud before giving Rusev a new opponent. There are a number of NXT call-ups set to make their way to the main roster in 2019, so it is important to keep that in mind when predicting Rusev’s next rival.

A match pitting Orton, Almas, and Rusev against each other could be a show-stealer, especially with how amazing The Pride of Plovdiv looked against Shinsuke Nakamura. Rusev is at the top of his game right now, so he can make any of this work.
