WWE Royal Rumble Match Card Predictions: A Full-Time Universal Champion

Bobby Roode and Chad Gable (c) vs. The Revival vs. Authors of Pain vs. Heavy Machinery [Raw Tag Titles]🔴

Thanks to Drake Maverick, Authors of Pain lost the Raw Tag Team Championships to Bobby Roode and Chad Gable two weeks ago on Monday Night Raw. When AOP invoked their rematch clause last week on Raw, the Authority refused to give them their official rematch clause since they felt that AOP was initially handed a title shot by former Raw General Manager, Constable Baron Corbin, rather than earning it. Instead, they booked a fatal 4 way tag match on last week’s Raw to determine who will become the new #1 contenders. Take a look…

The Revival won that fatal 4 way match and thereby took away AOP’s #1 contender’s spot for the Raw Tag Titles, which AOP is not too happy about. Unfortunately, the Revival lost the Raw Tag Title match against Bobby Roode and Chad Gable on the Christmas Eve edition of Monday Night Raw. However, Dash Wilder was the legal man in that bout and he was not the one who was pinned.

Both teams have been a treated as jokes in the Raw Tag Team Division for the past few months. Although AOP has been dominant, they have spent most of the time being sports entertainers in urinary storylines rather than being the indestructible professional wrestlers they were back in NXT. Meanwhile, despite their unluckiness with injuries, The Revival lost their Raw Tag Title match to the B Team at SummerSlam 2018 and had been losing week after week to Lucha House Party ever since. Nonetheless, they both have legitimate reasons to obtain a rematch for the Raw Tag Titles against Roode and Gable.

As a whole, the Raw Tag Team Division has been very uninteresting as of late and desperately needs rebooting. Since Heavy Machinery is the only NXT tag team scheduled to debut on the main roster soon, I would strongly hope that they debut on Raw to help bring some more interest to the division. Similar to Lars Sullivan, this tag team should start their debut with a big title match.

Since Bobby Roode and Chad Gable are the current Raw Tag Team Champions, they would be perfect targets for Heavy Machinery. In fact, Gable himself sent out a tweet saying “Make your way over to Raw, please! Bobby and I would love to throw down with you two hosses.” There’s no surprise that Gable would be excited to work with this tag team because Otis Dozovic, one half of Heavy Machinery, was actually trained by Gable.

Consequently, these three tag teams should battle against Roode and Gable for the Raw Tag Titles in a fatal 4 way match. If not, they will most likely just be seen as jokes, like the rest of the Raw Tag Team Division. To avoid that in the new era, this match should happen and I foresee a GLORIOUS retention. Since Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are coming back soon, they will most likely team up and be the ones to dethrone Roode and Gable and become Raw Tag Team Champs.
