8. Elimination Chamber

Ever since its debut in 2002, the Elimination Chamber has been one of the most brutal matches in the WWE.  That trend of brutality has carried over into its own pay-per-view, which was formed in 2010, and the event has continued the legacy of brutality.

Elimination Chamber 2018 was a historic night for women’s wrestling when, for the first time ever, women would compete inside the Elimination Chamber when Alexa Bliss defended her Raw Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks, Bayley, Mickie James, Sonya Deville, and Mandy Rose in a match that exceeded expectations.  Bliss retained her title after a tremendous match that continued the women’s evolution.

The Bar also successfully defended the Raw Tag Team Championship against Titus Worldwide in a pretty good match.  Asuka defeated Nia Jax in a better than expected match as well, but Matt Hardy vs. Bray Wyatt would be the only really lackluster moment throughout the entire show, even though it wasn’t bad in its own right.  The main event Elimination Chamber match determined who Brock Lesnar would face at WrestleMania 34.

Roman Reigns outlasted Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, John Cena, Elias, and The Miz inside the chamber to become number one contender for Lesnar’s Universal Championship at WrestleMania.  This was a very good pay-per-view as a whole with really only a couple matches lacking in comparison to the rest of the card.  It was a stellar show for the red brand heading into WrestleMania 34.

Elimination Chamber 2018 did everything it needed to do and it ranks among some of the better shows of the year.
