2. Bayley, Sasha Banks, Ember Moon, and The Riott Squad declare their entries for the Women’s Royal Rumble match
The Raw women’s division is simultaneously teeming with potential, yet lacking any real set storylines beyond Ronda Rousey’s feud with Becky Lynch and Charlotte.
That should change, at least slightly, this week.
The Women’s Royal Rumble match is lacking any favorites to win at this point, meaning we are probably due to hear some new entrants soon.
Those entrants will come in the form of everybody involved in a six woman segment from Raw last week, when The Riott Squad assaulted Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Ember Moon by unceremoniously tossing them from the ring.
That is undoubtedly a sign that all six women will become entrants into the Royal Rumble match sooner rather than later.
Of those six women, I would argue Bayley, Banks, and Moon all have a real shot at winning the Royal Rumble match itself, giving WWE the headline-making entrants it needs for the Women’s Royal Rumble match right now.
Additionally, it also sets up WWE Raw to have an on-going, and often seen, rivalry between the trio of faces and The Riott Squad.
Whether or not you consider this an improvement over the women’s divisions current state on Raw depends on how much interest you have left in seeing these kinds of feuds, yet it at least provides a clear direction for the division heading into the Royal Rumble.
Another person potentially looking for direction heading into WWE’s first major show of 2019 could very well be the returning “Face That Runs The Place” John Cena. This week may or may not provide us with an idea of what we can expect from Cena in the coming new year.
