7. SCU vs. Young Bucks & Flip Gordon for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship – Supercard of Honor XII

This is the WORST TOWN I’ve EVER been in – is what you would have said if you weren’t in New Orleans, Louisiana to watch this masterclass of a match.

Originally slated to be SoCal Uncensored versus The Kingdom, The Young Bucks and a hungry Flip Gordon subbed for The Kingdom who were storyline banned from all Supercard and Ring of Honor events that weekend.

The only words to describe this match are chaos and carnage. This match featured so many crazy spots and flips that would make your entire body hurt just seeing it. There were numerous ladder spots, 450 splashes, Flip’s scary ladder fall, and Nick Jackson’s “The Floor is Lava” spot among others.

However, despite being banned from the event, The Kingdom managed to enter the ring and interfere in the match several times until both SCU and the Young Bucks teamed up to take them out. While Christopher Daniels would pick up the victory for SoCal Uncensored, there were no losers in this match.

This match foreshadowed the fantastic year that all six of these men would go on to have.

6. Jeff Cobb vs Adam Page for the ROH World Television Championship – Final Battle

Ring of Honor newcomer Jeff Cobb picked up the ROH World Television Championship just weeks after winning PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles.  At Final Battle, Cobb defended his championship title against Hangman Adam Page in what have been Page’s final Ring of Honor match for the foreseeable future.

If it is indeed Hangman’s last stand in ROH, it was an absolute banger.  I would argue that 2018 was Page’s best year in the ring having several instant classics with some of the best in the business, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Personally, Jeff Cobb reminds me a lot of Samoa Joe, who found fame in Ring of Honor early in his career.  Cobb has only risen to prominence in the past few years.  His work with Lucha Underground and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla has paved his way to the world of Ring of Honor and New Japan.  Without a doubt, Jeff Cobb is going to be huge in 2019.
