4. WrestleMania 34 Triple Threat Against The Miz, Finn Balor (IC Title)

Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka and Ronda Rousey/Kurt Angle vs. Triple H/Stephanie McMahon were probably the top two matches at WrestleMania 34, but Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz was unsurprisingly right there with them.

For months, The Miz held the Intercontinental Championship (his title) on Monday Night Raw, cheating in order to take it from Roman Reigns at the special Raw 25 episode before retaining later to end the feud.

But Rollins got revenge on behalf of his Shield brother, defeating The Miz and Balor in this Triple Threat to capture the Intercontinental Championship from the A-Lister. In a cathartic close to the match, Rollins stomped Miz’s lights out, pinning the WWE’s most arrogant superstar. This win would set in motion the final match in Rollins’s mini-feud with Balor, as well as the beginning of his path to putting the IC Title in the main event.

3. Hell in a Cell Tag Match Ambrose And Rollins vs. McIntyre And Ziggler

There are few tag teams in the world who were as entertaining to watch or as easy to invest in emotionally than Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Their heart-breaking Raw Tag Team Championship loss to Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler came in a breath-taking match that was up there with any main roster tag match this year.

It wasn’t quite as good as The Undisputed Era’s matches against Moustache Mountain and Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan in NXT, but it wasn’t far off either. In fact, this match may have been the most underrated main roster match of 2018, though that’s something I would admittedly have to think more about.

Anyway, this match could have gone either way, but Rollins and Ambrose just weren’t able to get the job done against the recently-crowned champs. Ziggler and McIntyre may not have had the chemistry that Rollins and Ambrose did, which would doom them when they lost the tag titles on Raw, but their in-ring dominance was enough. After it looked like Ambrollins would be able to secure the titles, McIntyre shattered the audience’s hearts by hitting a Claymore.

Few matches were as well-booked or well-executed as this one, and it was likely one of the top 10 main roster matches of 2018. To say it was “crazy” would somehow be an understatement.
