2. John Cena And Becky Lynch vs. Andrade Cien Almas And Zelina Vega
When it was announced John Cena would be on last night’s SmackDown, everyone knew he would be doing something good. However, once Becky Lynch got involved with his return, that was even further solidified with The Man and Big Match John’s paths intersecting.
Lynch interrupted Cena’s return and took her shots at Cena, but Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega intervened as well, leading to an impromptu mixed tag team match featuring Cena and Lynch against Almas and Vega. This was an exciting match at first glance, and it would live up to that billing as a whole.
Almas handled Cena throughout much of the match, grounding the 16-time world champion to the point where he couldn’t tag in Lynch. However, Cena managed to get back on track and he made the hot tag to The Man, who took it to Vega from that point. This match really got going at that point, but the finish was particularly impressive in terms of Lynch.
After Cena cleared the ring of Almas, Lynch threw Cena out of the ring and would eventually make Vega tap out to get the win for herself and Cena. The brashness of Lynch was just incredible, as was her opting not to shake Cena’s hand after the match but instead choosing to mock Cena’s you can’t see me hand gesture. The match was fun and impressive, but Lynch’s actions stole everything.
The Man stands up to any and everyone, even if it’s a 16-time world champion and future hall of famer.
Final Grade: B+
