Falls Count Anywhere Match: Eddie Edwards vs. Moose

First up, we’ve got the most personal match of the night by far. It’s been a rough year for Eddie Edwards, to say the least. Things all started to unravel back in March of 2018 when he was feuding with Sami Callihan and oVe. During an attack on Edwards, Callihan placed a chair on his chest and intended to strike it with a bat to drive the chair into Eddie. Unfortunately for the man once known as “Mr. Anything is Possible,” the strike bounced and struck Eddie square in the face.

As a result of the attack, Edwards suffered a broken nose and several broken bones in his face. While Edwards was able to recover from the injuries, you could argue that he’ll never really be the same. The way the rest of 2018 went for Eddie certainly reinforces that possibility. As his mental health started to deteriorate, Eddie’s rage seemed to hurt everyone around him. From his wife Alisha Edwards to friend and mentor Tommy Dreamer, no one was safe once Eddie lost control.

Despite his deterioration, Eddie’s friend Moose stuck by his side throughout these struggles. When Eddie Edwards managed to get a shot at then-Impact World Champion Austin Aries, it was Moose who helped keep Aries’ insurance policy Killer Kross in check. That friendship quickly evaporated, as Moose turned on Eddie in August. The betrayal sent Eddie further down the rabbit hole, and he wound up committed to a mental institution by his own wife because of his condition.

While Eddie was kept there, Moose continued to taunt and push Eddie to the limit. That would’ve been the end of it, but hardcore legend and notoriously unstable veteran Raven happened to be at the same asylum as Edwards. A little counsel by Raven helped Edwards escape and return to Impact Wrestling where he’s now determined to get revenge on his former friend Moose.

At Homecoming they’ll go at it in a violent Falls Count Anywhere Match, and you can bet there will be blood, but who has the edge? He may not be stable, but my pick has got to be Eddie Edwards. It’s actually that very instability that gives him the edge in this match. Eddie will have any weapon his demented mind chooses at his disposal, and Moose has given him every reason in the world to use them. In Nashville, it’s time for Eddie Edwards to embrace his insanity in a different kind of Asylum to push Moose to his limit.

Prediction: Eddie Edwards
