2. Ronda Rousey vs. Sasha Banks For Raw Women’s Championship Could Be A Match Of The Year Candidate

Ronda Rousey has been a tremendous WWE Raw Women’s Champion over the past few months. ‘The Baddest Woman On The Planet’ has turned back the challenges of several top women’s superstars on the red brand, but at the Royal Rumble, she is set for possibly her toughest challenge to date.

Despite Rousey making Nia Jax tap out at TLC, Jax still felt she was the true number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.  This would come to a head during Alexa Bliss’ “Moment of Bliss” segment that featured Rousey, which saw her give Sasha Banks the ultimate respect.  Jax interrupted the proceedings to stake her claim for another match with Rousey, but The Boss had other ideas.

Banks was fired up and called out Jax for a match, with the winner facing Rousey at the Royal Rumble for the Raw Women’s Championship.

The match took place, and it was a physical, hard-hitting encounter that saw The Irresistible Force dominating for quite a bit of it.  Banks managed to claw her way back into the match, and she turned things around to the point where Jax had to tap out.

‘The Boss’ will face ‘The Baddest Woman On The Planet’ for the Raw Women’s Championship, and it should be fantastic.  This is a marquee dream match of sorts that hasn’t happened yet, and it could result in an early match of the year candidate.  It could give Rousey her best match yet, and that would be saying something given how many great matches she’s already had in her first year.

The Royal Rumble just got bigger with the addition of a Raw Women’s Championship match that should tear the house down.
