Daniel Bryan Calls Us Out

Daniel Bryan begins WWE SmackDown by guilt-tripping me over shoving junk food down my face, and apparently the void in my life that leads me to sucking down pints of Ben and Jerry’s is the same thing that leads me to cheer AJ Styles. (I don’t actually cheer AJ, just give me Mustafa Ali.)

Toxic nitrates? Chemicals? A takedown of hot dogs using real science? A hot dog toss at a fan plant? Hate for plastic straws? THIS is the Daniel Bryan guided tour of an arena during a WWE event that I NEEDED.

Bryan is proud that the “YES!” movement is dead and that he no longer has merchandise, admonishing all the plastic used to package AJ Styles’s merchandise. And honestly, these are some great points being made. Maybe Bryan isn’t such a bad guy after all. Maybe my needless consumption as I use electricity on multiple devices to cover SmackDown is the issue…maybe…

The best part was when Bryan called a fan impotent, and the fan yelled back, “I am not! I am not! WOOOO!”

AEW should totally sign that fan, by the way.

The Planet’s Champion was suddenly attacked by R-Truth, whom he’s scheduled to face in a match, as SmackDown Live’s greatest artist (the counter to Raw’s Elias) clearly didn’t forget Bryan’s Christmas Day attack.

Grade: A, Honestly, this was my favorite Daniel Bryan segment in a long time. Everything about his awesome new character wrapped up in 5-10 minutes.
