Rey Mysterio And Mustafa Ali vs. Samoa Joe And Andrade “Cien” Almas

Mustafa Ali started the match off against Samoa Joe, which was awesome. Joe started doing whatever he could to dominate Ali, throwing fists and shoving him against the ropes. Ali’s quickness was a game-changer – even for Joe – and it allowed him to tag in Rey Mysterio for a double drop-kick.

Now Andrade “Cien” Almas and Mysterio started squaring off in “dream” fashion, with Mysterio countering a big suplex attempt off the ropes into a lovely headscissors. He then hit another hurricanrana on Almas, who seemed bamboozled before finally powering down Rey for the cover.

Joe tagged back in, headbutting Mysterio and striking him with fury in the corner, as the duo of Almas and Joe looked to isolate the former world champion.

Mysterio was able to tag in Ali, who hit Almas with a hurricanrana, a chop, and a slick kick in the corner to send Almas reeling to set up his trademark facebuster…for just a one count.

Ali thought he was getting a huge momentum boost after nailing Almas with a picture-perfect DDT off the top rope, but Almas rolled to the outside to avoid a close-call on the pinfall attempt. Seeing a different opportunity emerging, Ali went for a plancha to the outside onto Almas, but he was instead caught by Joe, who brutally tossed Ali into the announce table behind him.

It took every bit of stamina for Ali to get out of the tree of woe with a tweaked knee, but he finally managed to bring Mysterio into the match for the hot tag. And Mysterio OWNED. Almas had no answers for Mysterio, and not even an intervening Joe could solve Rey, who hit a massive Seated Senton.

Almas and Mysterio started trading impressive moves before Rey nailed him with a CANADIAN DESTROYER. (You gotta watch it!)

Rey hit a 6-1-9 and Ali hit an 0-5-4, but the finish didn’t come…after some more fighting, Almas countered a 6-1-9 into a Hammerlock DDT for a pinfall on Mysterio one week after losing to John Cena and Becky Lynch in mixed tag action.

Grade: A, Awesome match and HUGE momentum boost for Almas. Watch this. And watch that Canadian Destroyer from Rey Mysterio.
