3.) Is there a code of conduct for fans?

During the event, there was a lot of emphasis on the voice of fans in AEW. About there being no “grid” about who fans should cheer or boo for. That the fans are the “bosses” for AEW.

The emphasis on fans is all well and good, but as a queer wrestling fan, these are not the questions I have about fans at AEW events. My main question is will there be a code of conduct in place for them or not?

Codes of Conduct are often put in place at sporting events and conventions to establish a set of rules for the attendees. Oftentimes it just basic rules such as “Don’t get drunk and disorderly” and “cosplay is not consent.” However, many independent promotions have been hesitant to adopt such codes, citing the ever-present “Free Speech” argument.

Now that’s not to say that AEW has to be a family friendly promotion like CHIKARA, but with how often I have heard racist, sexist or anti-queer insults and slurs thrown at shows under the guise of “free speech” – and often from people in Bullet Club/The Elite shirts – I wonder if AEW is going to have ramifications for that kind of behavior.
