All Elite Wrestling: Four Important Questions Still Remain For AEW

4.) Is Kenny Omega signing with AEW or not?
This is less of a logistical question, but an important one nonetheless…
Kenny Omega, one of the three original members of The Elite, recently told Tokyo Sports that he is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling for either WWE or AEW. This came as something of a shock, considering Omega had been a big part of NJPW’s expansion into North America for the past couple of years.
However, Omega has not made his future plans clear yet and it doesn’t necessarily mean AEW is a done deal. Elite member Marty Scurll stayed behind in Ring of Honor and recently got his own stable of monsters in PCO and Brody King. The rumors of Omega going to WWE over AEW have been running rampant with WWE allegedly offering him a lot of money.
Still, much like the also departing KUSHIDA, Omega’s contract with NJPW isn’t up until the end of January, so the question of AEW vs. WWE for him may not even be answered until then. Plus, with the level of main event talent already in AEW, the new promotion may not even necessarily need Omega to drive ticket sales. Either way, it’s entirely likely we could be seeing Omega stateside for the first time in a very long time in 2019. The question just remains as to where.
