Becky Kicks It Off

The show begins with Becky Lynch rolling into the parking lot, ready for an ass-kicking. Kayla Braxton quickly meets up to her, and she tells Becky that she’s been “waiting” to know  if Becky is ready for Asuka.

Ridiculous question, right? Becky sure thought so!

Outside the arena, we saw Otis Dozovic making the “healthiest” shake I’ve ever seen, using an egg, pancakes, and some sort of packaged meat (tuna, right?). Even The New Day were aghast at Dozer’s creation.

And guess who gulped the concoction and remarked that it was “weak”? The Man herself! And as she left to head to the arena to address Asuka, Heavy Machinery and The New Day screamed, “That’s The Man!”

When it comes to Becky, we’re all just living in her universe, the longest-reigning tag champs of all-time included.

Lynch addresses her critics, stating that her rise to the top is no fluke and that she’s not just hype; she delivers on everything she promises. But Becky says that Asuka is hype, because while she walked into WrestleMania 34 undefeated; she lost to Charlotte Flair and fell off the radar as a result. She makes a great point, stating that Asuka asks if Becky is ready for her, yet it was Becky who beat Flair all over the globe.

Asuka told Becky that after their match at the Royal Rumble, Becky will no longer be in Charlotte’s shadow…she will be in Asuka’s!

The IIconics come out, with Billie Kay stating that Asuka doesn’t have the dignity or class as champion. Peyton Royce wasn’t a fan of how Becky treated Kayla B improperly, and the IIconics added that it’s “typical behavior of a man”. (The crowd reacted as expected.)

Royce says that she and Kay will win the Royal Rumble match and THEN become the first Women’s Tag Team Champions. And the crowd couldn’t hate their plans even more! Looks like they aren’t iconic!

Unamused, Becky turns to Asuka and says that she’ll show her why she’s the “talk of this industry”, as she informs Kay and Royce that she wants to face one of them and make an example of them tonight.

Grade: B, Another solid segment from “The Man” who always makes good points when she’s on the microphone.
