30-Man Royal Rumble Match

The first of the night’s marquee matches, we’ve got the 30-Man Royal Rumble to determine who gets a shot at either the WWE Championship or Universal Championship at WrestleMania. While winning is no guarantee of victory at WrestleMania, as exhibited by the lack of success from last year’s Rumble winners at WrestleMania 34, it is still be a career-defining moment to win the Rumble.

This year, we’ve got several favorites pushing their way to the front of the pack and looking to leave with a ticket to WrestleMania. Names like Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Samoa Joe have already been tossed around as potential winners. We could even see a veteran like John Cena emerge victorious.

While not all entrants to the Royal Rumble are normally named ahead of time, we do know how most of the match will shape up. The following competitors have announced they will enter the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble:

  1. R-Truth
  2. Drew McIntyre
  3. Big E
  4. Kofi Kingston
  5. Xavier Woods
  6. Seth Rollins
  7. Jeff Hardy
  8. Dean Ambrose
  9. Bobby Lashley
  10. Samoa Joe
  11. John Cena
  12. Elias
  13. Baron Corbin
  14. Jinder Mahal
  15. Apollo Crews
  16. Andrade
  17. Mustafa Ali
  18. Rey Mysterio

The field is already looking pretty packed, but that leaves 12 unannounced entrants. Expect big Royal Rumble performances by stars like Mustafa Ali, Andrade, and Apollo Crews, but I don’t see any of them managing to walk out with the win.

Samoa Joe is a sleeper pick that could sneak up and win it all, but right now the favorite going in looks to be Seth Rollins. After a spectacular 2018 as one of the top stars on Monday Night Raw, Rollins has been trying to find his way back to the Universal Championship.

With the Intercontinental Championship no longer his focus, Rollins looks poised to win the Royal Rumble and punch his ticket to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35.

Prediction: Seth Rollins
