Toni Storm is a Megastar in Waiting

At NXT UK’s first TakeOver event in Blackpool over the weekend, Toni Storm further solidified her status as a major player in the coming years for the WWE women’s division when she defeated Rhea Ripley for the NXT UK Women’s Championship.

This, in addition to winning the 2018 Mae Young Classic, fleshes out what has been an outstanding few months for one of the most likable Superstars to come through the NXT system since its inception.

Not to take anything away from the former champion, because Rhea Ripley stands to dominate the women of WWE for years to come as a legitimate monster. The match between these two at TakeOver was a thrilling example of what female wrestlers bring to the table, and I fully believe it will go down as the moment the NXT UK Women’s division arrived on the scene.

I literally got chills as Toni Storm celebrated her victory with the fans in Blackpool. Storm is genuinely a feel-good Superstar, and that is something that is so hard to come by, so I hope WWE is aware of the star power they have on their hands here.

She and Ripley are two of my favorite Superstars to watch in all of WWE right now, and both women are top-notch entertainers, but there is just something absolutely magical about the new NXT UK Women’s Champion that cannot be put into words.

With women like Deonna Purrazzo, Isla Dawn, Jinny and Xia Brookside already staking their claims to contender-ship and others like Jazzy Gabert and Kay Lee Ray apparently ready to break through, I look forward to seeing where this division goes from here.
