Death Comes For The Draw

After getting the show intro, Salina de la Renta was met by Kaci Lennox backstage. Salina spoke on the coming match between LA Park and former Promociones Dorado associate Sami Callihan.

Despite hiring Callihan to do a job, de la Renta found herself disappointed in the quality of The Draw’s work and has put him on notice against one of the most formidable members of her stable. She promised Callihan that this wouldn’t end until he was “either fired or dead.”

How Was It? Very good! This is one of the better de la Renta promos in recent memory.

Salina came off poised and real here which isn’t always the case when she delivers promos. I’ve always found that she comes off way better in backstage interviews than in-ring interviews and that they should be utilized more often for her. This was the case here and she delivered.

de la Renta does a solid job of building the motivations for LA Park and Sami Callihan in a short amount of time.

Ace Romero vs Ariel Dominguez

Barrington Hughes was on commentary here as Romero looked to turn the newest member of Team Filthy into a fond memory. Hughes and Romero are set on a collision course as the two super heavyweights of Major League Wrestling strive to be known as the best.

Dominguez used his considerable speed advantage to try to take Romero off of his feet but Acey Baby was all a bit too much to overcome. Romero used Dominguez’s own speed against him to scoop him into a powerslam off of the ropes before flattening him with a running elbow drop for the victory.

How Was It? Fine for what it needed to be. Romero does the “Big Man vs Little Man” match extremely well.

If you were expecting this to be anything more than what it was, you’d come away disappointed. This was all about building Romero was a force while highlighting his extreme size advantage over most of the MLW roster.

As we saw with Marko Stunt, Romero has a knack for building credibility for his smaller opponents before putting them down for the count in a way that not every super heavyweight in history has had. Plus, with his own ability to speed around the ring, Romero is a force to be reckoned with regardless of the size of his opponent.

Post-match, Romero and Hughes make eye contact and share some words before Acey Baby exits while Hughes continues to stare him down. These two will meet in an MLW ring shortly to see just who is the promotion’s best big man.
