The Men’s Royal Rumble match is always a great place to spot some returning WWE legends. Which legends should make an appearance in this year’s match?
The Royal Rumble, much like WrestleMania, is all about creating a moment. A moment that will stick in your head for far longer than the actual match or event itself.
One of the top ways WWE likes to craft these memorable moments is to bring back some legends to fill out the 30 entrants in the annual Royal Rumble match.
Last year, we saw this concept in full effect when Rey Mysterio officially made his surprise return to WWE in the match. He would end up momentarily teaming with Randy Orton and John Cena to square off against Roman Reigns, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Finn Balor in an epic clash of eras smack in the center of the ring that was one of the most memorable scenes of the entire event.
That’s just the kind of moment that WWE loves to make in these matches. A scene that feels like it causes time to stand still, just for a split second, as you realize how incredible the showdown taking place in the ring is.
I have no doubt WWE will be looking to create more memories like that in the 2019 Royal Rumble, potentially even by utilizing some more returning legends. The key is figuring out what legendary superstars WWE could bring back that could best fit the bill.
Luckily, there are more than a couple candidates who could make an amazing Royal Rumble moment to remember.
