Raw Women’s Championship: Ronda Rousey(c) vs. Sasha Banks

Kyle: Sasha Banks got the upper hand in this feud after handing Ronda Rousey her first loss, albeit in a tag team match. Rousey had been undefeated up to that point and I find it hard to believe she would lose two matches in a row. There’s the idea that interference could come into play whether it be from Bayley, Natalya, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair or even one of Rousey’s buddies down in NXT. This match could come down to which competitor’s allies comes through and helps secure the victory. I think it’s more likely that Rousey and her crew are able to pull out the victory.

Prediction:  Rousey by submission

Joe: Out of all the exciting matches on the Rumble card, this is the most intriguing, in part because nobody seems to think Sasha Banks will win. Banks probably won’t claim the Raw Women’s Championship, but she does have a more than a fighting chance after tapping out Natalya on Raw to defeat Ronda Rousey in tag team competition. Banks will be protected, and that could mean losing without tapping out…

Prediction: Ronda Rousey

Chris:  In terms of match quality, I’m curious to see how well these ladies mesh with one another. On paper it looks good; Sasha Banks is one of the best workers in the company and Ronda Rousey has impressed in her small sample size of matches. As for the result, a Banks win isn’t completely out of the question; Rousey has stated in interviews that she would like to compete in a Rumble match and having her win the big battle royal would make for a unique way to build to her seemingly inevitable triple threat match with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. Don’t rule out a wacky finish in this one either; WWE clearly wants to do a “4 Horsewomen vs 4 Horsewomen” match at some point, so this could start the build to that. Plus, Banks has picked up some momentum over the last couple of weeks thanks to some strong work in the ring and on the mic, so it would be silly to cool her off so soon with a decisive defeat. So, I think we’ll get a Rousey victory in a manner that plants the seeds for an eventual heel turn by the RAW Women’s Champion.

Prediction: Ronda Rousey by pinfall

Bryan: As good a match as Sasha/Ronda might be, and as much as I’d like to see Sasha walk out as champion, I think Ronda ultimately gets the win with surprise help from Becky. Especially if this match takes place after the Women’s Rumble, and Becky is the (co) winner of that, she’ll ensure Ronda wins to make sure that’s the title she’s going for.

Prediction: Ronda Rousey

Patches: Much like Asuka vs. Lynch, this match is at the mercy of WWE’s greater plans. Sasha Banks may be seen as just another challenger, but she’s shown a return to form in recent weeks that has established her once again as a significant threat. As much as I’d like some sort of Four Horsewomen distraction to cost Rousey the belt, I just don’t see it happening. Ronda Rousey takes it with the armbar, but loses control and continues to attack after the match and Bayley has to save Sasha.

Prediction: Ronda Rousey via KO/Submission

Joe Anthony Myrick: Although she suffered her first lost in a tag match this past Monday, I don’t expect Ronda to be pinned or submitted until WrestleMania which means she’d have to beat Sasha at the Rumble.

Prediction: Ronda

Jesse: Sasha Banks has been on fire recently. This is the Boss who was a force in NXT and went to toe to toe on numerous occasions with Charlotte. Continue giving her mic time and intriguing storylines please. She is more than game to be in this spot versus the champion.

Ronda has been a prodigy in the ring since her debut at WrestleMania. While she has some improvement to do on the mic, her in ring work has been incredible. I am curious to see how they will book Banks in this situation. Ronda has dominated smaller foes in the past, I want to see Banks get a fair amount of offense in and look like the credible challenger that she is. There should be more women besides Charlotte and Nia Jax that are able to stand up to Ronda.

With that being said, I can’t see the train slowing down just yet. While her 1st loss is coming in the imminent future, Rousey will remain unbeaten here and retain her championship via arm bar.

Prediction: Rousey by submission
