WWE Royal Rumble: Daniel Bryan’s Cult of Vegans is Born?

As always, WWE Royal Rumble delivered several twists and turns. Most of those surprises came during the Rumble matches, but perhaps the most perplexing surprise came during the WWE Championship match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles.

During the WWE Championship match’s climax, a wild Erick Rowan appeared, wearing plaid no less. Clearly, he’s been lurking in Mick Foley’s closet prior to the match. He also might be a Misfits fan judging by his shirt, so he must’ve been listening to Vampiro’s iPod as well.

Anyway, Rowan lurked around ringside for a bit before the referee got knocked out. In the ref’s unconsciousness, Styles hit a Styles Clash on Bryan.

That’s when Rowan hit the ring for a massive Chokeslam on Styles, helping Bryan retain his title. Post-match saw Rowan raise Styles to his feet so Bryan could nail The Phenomenal One with a Knee Plus. Looks like we have ourselves a brand-new alliance on our hands.

Taking this at face value, this looks like a random union, but in theory, it makes perfect sense. For one, keep in mind that Erick Rowan and Daniel Bryan were buddies in the Wyatt Family for a week. Yeah, don’t worry, we forgot that, too.

Most importantly, let us also keep in mind that in canon a few years back, during his first split from the Wyatt Family, we learned that Rowan was a vintner and a savant in his own right. And judging from the flannel, Rowan might just be a vegan. This means that Bryan and Rowan have something in common: they’re both insanely socially aware when it comes to the planet earth and they’re eco-friendly. They also like plaid.

That finish to the WWE Championship could be suggesting that Daniel Bryan is building his own army of eco-warriors. From the Wyatt Family to a vegan family, Rowan and Bryan could be forming their own cult of sorts. If this is actually the case, then they could be on their way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. Who needs the Bullet Club when you’ve got The Vegan Club?

We have no idea if Rowan’s partner – Luke Harper – will be part of this happy union as well, nor if he, too, is a vegan. He might be a meat eater, so he may have disqualified himself from joining the Vegan Club. Granted, Harper also has a beard, so Bryan and Rowan might let him slide on that basis alone. We’ll have to monitor this stable closely for further updates.
