3. Daniel Bryan Forms a New Environmentally-Friendly Stable with Erick Rowan

Many people in the wrestling community, and on Daily DDT for that matter, have been comparing Daniel Bryan to Captain Planet.

Well, if Bryan is Captain Planet, then he may have just found his first “planeteer” in Erick Rowan.

A flannel and sneaker outfitted Erick Rowan interrupted Bryan’s match against A.J. Styles to obliterate ‘The Phenomenal One’ with a rather impactful chokeslam variation. Bryan was able to pick up the win as a result, but didn’t stop there.

Bryan and Rowan laid out Styles together after the match, with the former Bludgeon Brother eventually raising Bryan’s hand in victory.

Based on Rowan’s appearance, and Bryan’s recent preaching, I think its fairly obvious where this whole angle is going.

Daniel Bryan is about to form a new faction of environmentalists to take on any and all challengers on SmackDown Live.

While WWE is no stranger to factions, it will be interesting to see if such a unique bent on the concept will be able to gain traction. I don’t expect us to get much in the way of an answer this week to that query, but we will probably get some general philosophizing from Bryan on why he formed the stable in the first place.

At the end of the day, I think this new angle will largely depend on the individual performances of  Bryan, Rowan, and whatever other talent jump on board in selling the angle.

On the subject of finding other talent for this faction, I think its also important to note that Luke Harper might ought to steer clear of this one. An intense, tree-hugging version of The Wyatt Family is going to come off just as awkward as it sounds. With that said, who aligns with this new faction will definitely be one of the biggest things to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
