R-Truth vs. Shinsuke Nakamura (c) for the United States Championship
Nia Jax replaced R-Truth as the No. 30 entrant in the Men’s Rumble to give us one hell of a moment, but Truth has a big opportunity tonight against the new United States Champion. Shinsuke Nakamura picked his title back up at the Rumble PPV on the kick-off show, defeating Rusev, who initially won the title off of Nakamura on Christmas Day.
Truth and Carmella are out to air their grievances against Nia, and Truth says that because the McMahons knew he would have won the Rumble without Nia’s interference, he’s getting this shot at Nakamura’s US Title.
Nakamura started dominating Truth early, hitting a huge kick and exploder suplex before attempting a Kinsasha knee strike. However, Truth countered, sending Nakamura outside the ring.
During the break, Nakamura predictably took control of the babyface, taking advantage of every five-count and using his superior striking ability to slow down the former United States Champion.
Shinsuke had Truth set up in the corner and just kept ramming him in the midsection with knees, scoring a nearfall out of it.
Truth countered a big move from Nakmaura, rolled him up…and WON???

Mike Chioda counted to three with Nakamura’s shoulders down. Nakamaura, as pissed as we’ve ever seen him, was in disbelief, but even though he tried to kick out, his shoulders were still on the mat. What a strange win!
Corey Graves was all doom and gloom, but Byron Saxton and Tom Phillips were more than just amused, with the latter remarking that this is Truth’s first title win in WWE in seven years.
Rusev and Lana came down the ramp to call out R-Truth and Carmella. The Bulgarian George Clooney explains that the title is better than Shinsuke, and if it’s better than Shinsuke it’s sure as hell better than R-Truth.
He wants a match with him right now, and then things break down. Lana got into a shouting match with Carmella, who shoved Lana, injured on Sunday, to the canvas.
Rusev and Truth got in their own shoving match, too, with Rusev demanding a title match. And Truth obliged!
Grade: B, I never thought I’d see R-Truth pin Shinsuke Nakamura for a title, but here we are. I’m here for this madness, especially with Rusev, Lana, and Carmella involved!
