4. Mustafa Ali

The heart of SmackDown Live, that is. Since arriving to the blue brand back in December, Mustafa Ali has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top. In his first week, he took the WWE Champion to the limit in singles competition and in the week that followed, he pinned Daniel Bryan clean in tag team competition. Add that to the fact he spent a half hour in this year’s Royal Rumble, going as far as to eliminate then-US Champ Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe.

To say that Ali’s had a rocket strapped to his back would be an understatement. As much as that rocket has helped Ali soar through the ranks on SmackDown, we don’t think he’ll be winning the WWE Championship. We all would love to see Ali pull off a major upset, but it is just too early into his main roster career for Ali to win the big one.

With that in mind, it’s certainly possible that Ali could go into WrestleMania challenging Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship, if only because Ali never received a title match after pinning Bryan clean in the middle of the ring last month.

Of course, that might just be wishful thinking. Again, that’ll be a big match to book so early into his main roster career. Even a Mania match like that is just as possible as some of us may hope, we do not expect Ali to head into the Show of Shows with the WWE Title around his waist.

Plus, much like how Samoa Joe needs to finish his feud with Mustafa Ali before even thinking about a WWE Title reign, Ali must do the same in vice versa fashion. Still, if nothing else, we can expect another impressive outing for the blossoming SmackDown superstar in the Elimination Chamber.
